Crafted in Italy from hand-formed and painted tole iron, the chandelier retains its original wooden candle socket housings, an uncommon surviving detail of earlier Italian lighting. Five curved candle arms emerge from the central floral arrangement, complemented by a gilt metal ceiling canopy and chain.
The original painted surface has been preserved, with the natural patina, oxidation and areas of worn paint that give vintage Italian tole lighting its distinctive character.
